Kingmaker: The App – Update 7

September 4, 2015

I was holding off on doing another update until I had the mass combat rules working, but that’s been taking a long time, for a variety of reasons. So I’m putting out a smaller update, along with a distribution change.

I’ve created a page for the Kingdom Manager application, which should be visible in the banner above. Rather than handing out download links via email as I’ve done in the past, anyone can freely download the latest version of the application from that page. But there’s a big change going forward. A user can create and open maps, characters, and kingdoms, but won’t be able to save actual kingdom changes unless they have an activation key. So if you have an older version, you may want to just stick with it. There’s a link for requesting an activation on the aforementioned page, and also a menu option for it in the application itself.

Features

  • Added a bunch of new icons for the Landmark terrain feature: dead tree, statue, mountain peak, waterfall, lake, living tree, and tombstone.
  • Qualities! Settlement Qualities and Disadvantages can now be added to your towns via the Settlement menu.

Bug Fixes

  • Fixed an issue with the map window that was preventing the hex map image from being displayed.
  • Fixed an issue where trying to change the name of the current map in the main window caused an error.
  • Fixed an issue where adding a Free City to a kingdom could lower the kingdom’s Unrest, depending on the buildings contained in the city.
  • Fixed an issue where vacancy penalties were not being factored into the kingdom’s bonus breakdown (found by Joerg P).
  • If a 1×2 or 2×2 building is placed in a settlement district so that it overlaps a street, removing that building will now correctly erase the building’s image from the district map.
